Sixth Annual Etz Men's Retreat
August 16-18, 2019
Each year, the Etz Men’s Retreat provides an environment in which adult males* who are part of the Etz Chayim community come together to connect with other men, form and deepen friendships, and have fun together.
Our theme this year, Counting Our Blessings, comes from a convergence that weekend of the Jewish “Valentine’s Day,” Saturday’s Torah portion containing both the Sh’ma and Ten Commandments, and a special Haftarah leading to the High Holidays. What better time to spend a weekend in gratitude for the blessings we’ve been given as Jews, as Americans (or not), and as individuals?
And what better place to do so than the beautiful and peaceful surroundings of Monte Toyon Camp and Conference Center, where we return again this year.
It promises to be another restorative weekend, with chances to hike, play outdoors and take a Shabbat nap as well as reflect, renew and return refreshed with a stronger connection to other men in your Jewish community.
Organizers: Aaron Schuman Bart Hechtman, Brian Burns, Bud Wittlin, Clyde Mann, David Helfinstein, James Baloun, Mitch Slomiak, Ron Shipper, Steve Solomon and Wynn Hausser.
*For the purposes of this retreat, the words “males” and “men” are intended to include anyone self-identified as such (He/Him or They/Them).
