Public Service 5K City Captain Volunteer Form

Looking for a short-term volunteer opportunity that shows your support for federal public servants across the country? You’ve found it! Become a City Captain for the 2017 Public Service 5K Charity Run/Walk and put your leadership and marketing skills to work on behalf of federal public servants.

Now in its fifth year, the Public Service Charity 5K Run/Walk celebrates and supports federal public servants across the country, giving public employees a visible reminder they are valued, and offering friends, family, and the broader community the opportunity to come together to thank them. All proceeds from the race support civilian federal and postal workers through FEEA: The Federal Employee Education & Assistance Fund, the event’s official charity.

The race takes place in Washington, DC and also in communities across the U.S. and around the world where virtual runners and teams join in and run or walk their own 5K!

City Captains work in their local area to promote and communicate about the race. As a City Captain you will help us by:

  • Using your network , reaching out to local businesses, and posting to community bulletin boards to promote local virtual participation in the race using marketing tools we provide;
  • Suggesting local venues where participants can meet on Sunday, May 7, to run, jog, or stroll an approximately 5 kilometer distance;
  • Organizing local registrants who would like to participate with a group on race day (we’ll send you their contact info);
  • Snapping some photos of your group in their race gear before, during, and after the race and share them to our Flickr site

Please complete the form below and we’ll send you what you need to get started!
