Artist Foundry - Pitch Competition Application 2025

Welcome to the second year of the Artist Foundry's Pitch Competition! On May 22nd from 5:30-9:00pm at the Salt Lake City Public Library, selected filmmakers are invited to pitch to a panel of industry experts and receive feedback in front of a live audience. We will award prizes for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place pitches determined by the judging panel. Winning the pitch competition in no way guarantees project funding from Utah Film Center or any member of the judging panel, but this is a great opportunity to get your project recognized by the community!

To submit a pitch for consideration, please fill out this form by April 18th. We will select 8 people to pitch at the May 22nd event. Selections will by announced by April 30th and those selected will be required to attend a pitch training session on May 7th from 6:00-8:00pm to hone their skills and elevate their pitches. On the day of competition, you'll be expected to give a 6 minute pitch, followed by 4 minutes of feedback from the judging panel.

Some notes before you begin:

We recommend writing your responses in a separate document, preparing any pitch materials you have for upload, and then completing the form in one sitting as your responses will not be autosaved. Once you submit this form you will not be able to edit your responses.

If selected, you will be required to attend the pitch training session on May 7th from 6:00-8:00pm MST. If you are unavailable to attend, your application will be disqualified.

If selected, you will be required to pitch in person at the competition on May 22nd from 5:30-9:00pm at the Salt Lake Public Library. If you are unavailable to pitch in person, your application will be disqualified.

It is highly recommended you include visual material in your application (i.e. pitch deck, sizzle reel, lookbook, trailer, etc.).

An estimated budget is also required.
