Online Complaint Form

Thank you for contacting the Virginia Department of Elections with your concern. Please provide as much information as possible about the problem, incident, or issue that you experienced (including polling place, if applicable), so that we may follow up. The Department of Elections or your local General Registrar will contact you if further information is required.

VOTER CREDIT concern? Applying your voter credit after an election is a manual process; it is NOT automatic so will NOT appear immediately. Localities using Electronic Pollbooks on Election Day are expected to enter voting credit within ten (10) days after the election. Localities using paper poll books cannot begin to enter voter credit until after 30 days have passed when they are permitted by law to retrieve their paper poll books from the Circuit Court Clerk. Please be patient in awaiting your voter credit to be applied. Should you have questions specific to voter credit, please contact your local voter registration office directly (You can find your local voter registration office at www.elections.virginia.gov/VRO).

PLEASE NOTE:  Neither state nor local election officials are able to retrieve your specific ballot. If that could be accomplished, it would mean your ballot is no longer secret as required by the Constitution of Virginia.

STAND BY YOUR AD campaign finance complaint? This form is not for filing SBYA complaints. Please file those types of complaints here: https://www.elections.virginia.gov/candidatepac-info/regulation-and-policies/
