Freshmen Scholarship

The Humphreys University Freshmen Scholarship is available to 2020/21 incoming students who have been awarded a 2020/21 Cal Grant High School Entitlement E1 award. The Freshmen Scholarship assists students with the remaining out-of-pocket tuition expense not covered by financial aid. Financial aid includes and is not limited to the following: Pell Grant, Cal Grant, Federal Supplemental Opportunity Educational Grant, federal loans, private loans, other state aid, external scholarships, tuition waivers, etc.
Scholarship Eligibility
A 2020/21 Cal Grant Entitlement E1 Award recipient is eligible to apply for the Humphreys University Freshmen Scholarship.
  • Must have graduated from high school between August 2019 through June 2020
  • Must have been awarded a Cal Grant A or B Entitlement E1 Award.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.
Award Descriptions
Cal Grant A Entitlement E1 Award at Humphreys University provides up to $9084 per academic year. Cal Grant A awards apply only to tuition. The Humphreys University Freshmen Scholarship will cover the remaining tuition balance AFTER all financial aid has been applied for the quarter. Financial aid includes and is not limited to the following: Pell Grant, Cal Grant, Federal Supplemental Opportunity Educational Grant, federal loans, private loans, other state aid, external scholarships, tuition waivers, etc.
 
Cal Grant B Entitlement E1 Award is composed of two components: an Access award (living expense) and Tuition award. The tuition component of the Cal Grant B award provides students beyond their freshman year up to $9084 per academic year. The Access award portion of the Cal Grant B award provides a full-time freshman student up to $1671, per academic year. The Humphreys University Freshmen Scholarship will cover the remaining tuition balance AFTER all financial aid has been applied for the quarter. Financial aid includes and is not limited to the following: Pell Grant, Cal Grant, Federal Supplemental Opportunity Educational Grant, federal loans, private loans, other state aid, external scholarships, tuition waivers, etc.
 
Freshmen Scholarship Book Award
Furthermore, to assist students in obtaining required books, students will also be awarded a $1000 lifetime scholarship specific for the purchase of books. The scholarship is only valid for the purchase of books through the Humphreys’ virtual book vendor, eCampus. Once the scholarship has been depleted, this scholarship is not renewable and only valid in combination with the Freshmen Scholarship award.
