Humphreys University Employee Tuition Waiver Request

Tuition waivers are provided for all undergraduate, graduate, and law school courses for Humphreys University's qualified full-time employees, trustees, adjunct faculty members, and their qualifying spouses and dependents. The intent of the tuition waiver program is to enhance employee development and assist in fulfilling the needs of the University. • Eligible adjunct faculty members, their spouses or Registered Domestic Partners, and children will receive a waiver of tuition as follows:
    • Waiver = (tuition X units taught /16)
    • Waiver will be based on a 4 unit per quarter minimum teaching load.
Conditions & Guidelines
  • A Humphreys Employee Tuition Waiver Form must be completed by the eligible full-time employee, trustee, or adjunct faculty member and submitted to the Student Services Department before registering for a course, along with proof of relationship, if applicable. Tuition Waiver Forms are available upon request from the Student Services Department.
  • Benefit recipients are responsible for the purchase of books, supplies, or other materials required for the academic program.
  • Eligibility for a tuition waiver only applies while the full-time employee, trustee, or adjunct faculty member is actively in the service of Humphreys University and must be used during the quarter of eligibility.
  • If active service to Humphreys University terminates or employment is no longer at full-time status before 1/3 of the quarter is completed, the full-time employee, trustee, or adjunct faculty member will be responsible for the tuition costs and the waiver will not apply.
  • Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress, defined below. A recipient who fails to maintain satisfactory academic progress will become ineligible for continued participation in the tuition waiver program until they have restored satisfactory academic progress. During a period of ineligibility, the recipient is responsible for all costs of their education.
Humphreys University defines satisfactory academic progress as follows:
  1. 2.0 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate) Term GPA; and
  2. 2.0 (undergraduate), 3.0 (graduate), or 70 (law school) Cumulative GPA; and
  3. PACE (Pass Rate) – Maintain a 66.67% cumulative completion rate. PACE is calculated on all attempted units.
  4. Time Frame Requirement - Graduate within the maximum timeframe. This is to ensure you complete the academic program within a reasonable overall timeframe based on units attempted. To meet the standard, students must complete their program of study within 150% of the units required for the degree.
Tuition Waiver Awarding Process
  • Tuition waivers are factored into a student's overall aid package.
  • Eligible waivers are posted to the student's account beginning in week 2 of the quarter.
  • The student is responsible for any tuition charge not covered by the tuition waiver.
  • Financial aid will not be refunded until tuition is paid.
