Candidates for the Hall of Luminaries are nominated by members of the WPI community. Anyone can submit a nomination and there is no limit to the number of nominations someone can submit.
Nominees’ professional work and contributions should demonstrate either excellence over a sustained period of time or be of a one-time nature of significant impact, and should have affected humanity as a whole, a specific field as a whole, or have had a dramatic effect on a specific area. Nominees should have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments and excellence in their field or have achieved a specific feat of national or international significance.
Secondarily, individuals who have made beyond-significant contributions of service that exceed all expectations to the university may also be considered.
The next class of inductees will be evaluated soon. Nominations are accepted at any time. The strength and depth of the nomination makes an impact, so we encourage nominators to submit strong biographies detailing the achievements of the nominee.
